Suggested Activities
Want to join the European Action Week Against Racism by organising a campaign activity? This year, UNITED has five suggested activities that your organisation can easily and cheaply organise to mark the action week: Movie Night/Screening, Diversity Party, Antiracist Picnic, Walkathon/Bike-a-thon/Marathon and a Human Library. We have prepared how-to guides, lists and useful articles that you can find at the links below:
Movie Night/Screening: A Movie Screening might be an excellent practice to raise awareness about racism and discrimination in our society, especially among youth.
Human Library: The Human Library is a novel way of addressing the broad issue of prejudice while navigating around some of the associated sensitivities. Participants in the activity get to grips with their prejudices by meeting and getting to know members of marginalised and minority groups.
Diversity Party: Let’s celebrate diversity with a party!
Antiracist Picnic: Diversity is Yummy, so this year we encourage you to enjoy diversity with your stomach. A picnic where you can enjoy dishes from different countries together, or just a get-together where you enjoy good food and meaningful conversations might be the perfect opportunity.
Walkathon: A Walkathon is one of the best ways to make large communities come together for a cause.
Other: Want to do something different to mark the Action Week? Educational events, discussion groups, intercultural meetings or something completely different? No problem! You can find loads of best practice examples from previous years’ campaigns at this link.
